It's been quite a while since I posted!

Lil update time...
For the past 2 1/2 months I've been working annd going to school.

School has been amazing. I've learned so much about hair and skin.
It's so much fun, even with the drama that goes on.

Work has been.. work. I changed my hours to get some time off
but now I have to change them back since.. I need money. Hah.

Over the next.. week there will be a LOT of posts.
And I mean a lot. I've got a ton of reviews to put up.
I want to put up some of the work I've done in school.
And I'm going to get back into the nail polish posts.
I'm also going to be making posts about the process of my nail.
(Sounds weird, but it will be informational. You'll see what I'm talkin about soon!)

So be prepared for post overload. =)

Tomorrow is my first day of cosmetology school!

So be prepared.. this blog will start showing more hair-things.
When I've done something good, I'll probably post it on here.
Or products I've learned about/tested.
=)

My program also teaches a bit of nail stuff and makeup.
So more of that will be on here as well.

SPEAKING OF NAILS...
Last weeks NOTW... I did my nails then literally the NEXT DAY
they were ruined from a cleaning product I used at work.

So I didn't want to show what a horrid mess they became and stayed for a week.
Doing my nails tonight because I cannot being these nasty stubs to school tomorrw
=)
Picture will be up later~

~DRUM ROLL~

So lately I've seen a lot of glitter.
Decided I wanted glitter nails but not a plain glitter nail.
Aka no design just straight up glitter nail.

Booo. Boring.

Wanted to do something with boxes.
Kinda like color blocking.
Ended up with this..

Colors used:
Sally Girl - (Dunno the name) hot pink
NYC - 208 Pier 17
ELF Clear

Fairly easy and you don't need any special brushes.

For the glitter I used craft glitter and mixed it with the clear polish.
It's the only way to get SUPA GLITTER MODE without
using 400 layers of polish I swear.

Probably wont do a top coat for these since the pink is sorta matte
and I would like to keep it that way.
on Friday, July 8, 2011
While I don't have any photos or cool designs for polish on short
nails right now.. I will soon!
I had to cut my nails pretty short since I pretty much
didn't touch them for a month and they were completely
destroyed.

SO NAIL DESIGNS FOR SHORTIES COMMIN SOON~
on Thursday, June 30, 2011
So the past few weeks for me has been beyond crazy.

My boyfriend graduated from school and then came to visit for 3 weeks.
(Which was amaaazing.)
While he was here I was still working too.
(25-30 hours a week. Ugh.)

So with work and him, I literally had little time for anything else.
I've let a lot of things go just because I wanted to spend time with my boyfriend.

He left Tuesday and even though I'm still working, I've got more time then before.
So I'll be starting up the tanning posts again as well as the nail posts.

In a day or two I'll also be getting my hair trimmed up a bit and may be dying it.
I'm thinking blonde.. strawberry blonde.
We'll see.
=)
on Monday, June 6, 2011
I kinda skipped a week.
My nails last week weren't very interesting though.
No polish for half the week then the other half it was 'mood' changing teal.
Boring eh?

This week.. I've got mood polish, teal again, with rhinestones.
Very simple.

I kept the polish matte by using a matte top coat.
(The polish is already matte but I still needed a top coat.)
So yea. This is it.
Couldn't really think of anything else to do since there's go good holidays this week. Haha.

A post about nails? OH MY.

So I decided to do my nails on Sunday for Presidents Day and this is what I came up with..
These might be destroyed come Monday though.
Ohwell.

I'm going to do my nails every Sunday and make a post about what my nails are for that week!
I'm also going to make a theme list. Each week I'll do a new theme! I can do them in any order but there will be at least 10 themes. Maybe even more if I can come up with lots or if anyone posts any themes! =)

So it's been awhile since I last posted about this product.
After day 4 I did 1 more application, ended up with a bit more color, then I stopped using it.
Not because it wasn't working or because the smell was getting to me, but because I just wanted to take a break from it.

I decided that I'm going to do 2 days in a row of using it, then take 2-3 days break from using it.
That way, I hopefully wont turn orange from using it too much.
Since I'll of course be taking showers during those break days, some of it will get cleaned off but not ALL of it.
SO BASICALLY... take 2 steps forward then 1 step back.

I HOPE THIS PLAN WORKS!
Haha.

I will be applying more today, later of course it's almost 1am!
I will be sure to make a new post annd show pictures.

DAY 4

Pretty much no visible change for day 4.
I took a picture and my skin looks the same.
The gloves are working wonders.
No more orange hands but since they're not loose, it feels like I don't have any gloves on at all.

I have had to change my foundation.
I didn't buy a new one, just used my Revlon that's was just a smidge too dark.
It's no longer too dark. Woohoo.

No picture post today since I basically look the same as day 3!

The smell of this stuff though has started to.. change.
At first it smelled like frosting. (No joke. It was amazing.)
Now it's got this weird smell. The only thing I can really compare to is..
sweat. But it's a unique smell and isn't exactly like sweat.
It's just odd. Might have to start applying this stuff at night so I don't smell funky when I go to work!

DAY 3

Heeey I'm actually keeping up with this. Shocking eh?

Once again took a shower then applied like regular ol lotion.

So today there is actually a noticeable difference. Though it's just a slight difference, it's visible!
Wooohoooo!

This time I used gloves when applying so my hands don't turn orange again.
After some more scrubbing this morning all the orange seems to be gone from my palms.

on Friday, April 29, 2011
DAY 2

So not much of a change. I look pretty much the same still.
No glowness and not visibly darker.
HOWEVER.. my palms did turn orangy.
After 4 scrubs with hot water.. they're still a little orange. Yikes.

Might have to start wearing gloves when I put this stuff on!

No picture today since they look the same.
LITERALLY.
Little disappointed in that. I was glad at first that it seemed like a very gradual increase in color but now my impatience is shining. I want to be tan-ish now please.~
on Thursday, April 28, 2011
So I've been wanting to tan a bit for the summer.
I love being pale butt in the summer I like to have a nice glow to me.
However, since I've got tattoo I don't want to tan using the normal ways.
IE: Laying in the sun and tanning beds.

That narrows down the options.
What was left? Spray tans and tanning lotions.

I decided on using a lotion after a friend recommended Jergens.
Went to the store and saw that Jergens was 10 bucks!
I, in all honesty, didn't want to spend 10 bucks on something that may make me look like a orange.

Soo I went with offbrand. Saved me a whole 6 bucks. Woo.

Okay story time aside..
I'm going to make a post for each day I use this.
Just so I can basically record and show my results.

DAY ONE

So I took a shower and then put this on like I would my regular ol lotion.

I look the same. No change in color at all and no glowy bits.
I'm okay with this as it actually made me calm down a bit.
I was nervous to try this because I didn't want to put it on and look streaky or orange!

My guess is that this is very buildable and the more I use it the more color I'll get. We'll see~

Legs~

So after what.. months of saying this was coming, it's finally heree.
Last time I was going to do this a storm came and was unable to take pictures.

I had a nice 2 days off, today included, and the sun was out so
I took advantage of it and FINALLY got pictures of mostly everything.
There's a few things I didn't take photos of which I will save for later.

(Mainly nail polish. It already reeks of burn cookies in here, no need to
add more gross smells to my room. Besides I just got more the other day and I want to do a review for them all at once in one big ol post!)

ONTO THE REVIEWS!

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎

First up is all my lovely eye shadows that I got.
The next photo of them on my arm has them listed by how they're shown in the above photo.
Left to middle to right - top to bottom.

(Far left is with too faced primer, middle is with NYX milk pen, right is with nothing.)

Urban Decay Loose Pigment - Asphyxia
Urban Decay Loose Pigment - Graffiti
Urban Decay Loose Pigment - Yeyo
Ulta Pressed Shadow - Mosaic
Ulta Pressed Shadow - Platinim
Ulta Basked Shadow - Lucky Charm
NYX Loose Pigment - Gold
Urban Decay Matte Shadow - Chronic
Ulta Shadow Quad - It Girl
TBN Sample - Harmony
TBN Sample - Irish Dreams
TBN Sample - Grape Sparkle
Ulta Pressed Shadow - Truffle/Mystical
Ulta Pressed Shadow - In the buff/Trendsetter

UD Loose Pigments
With a primer they're sorta metallic-y. Then with the milk pen, they a bit more subdued. Still vibrant like with just primer but not at metallic. So you can change it up with them. Either for for brightness WITH metallic or just brightness with no metallic. However without anything they're very transparent and not great at all.

UD Matte Shadow
It's extremely matte. Which is amaazing. The color is very vibrant when there is something under it but with nothing, again it's a bit transparent.

ULTA Shadows

For all the ulta shadows, they're very nice when there is something below them. With nothing they're quite opaque too. Including the Mosaic blue. The only one out of all of them that looks good with nothing below it would be Platinum. It's already very metallic-y on it's own. Having something under it just enhances it a bit more. Own it's own though it does pretty good. Doesn't last very long but the color stays true.

NYX Loose Pigment
The NYX is another one that stays true even with nothing below it. It's a true gold that out shines everything. It's got amazing color to it. In all honesty, I compare this too MAC goldmine frost. I have been searching for a dupe of goldmine frost for a while and nothing has been as amazing as it. I of course ended up spending way more then the MAC one itself in the process of trying to find a dupe so actually buying the MAC would've saved me money but I didn't.. and I have FINALLY found a dupe! The only cons to the NYX is the packaging. The bottle it's in really isn't a good bottle so when you try to get some pigment, your brush is COATED in it and of course you can't tap it back into the container since the top of it's like maybe 3mm wide!

TBN 5gram Samples
The TBN samples (The Body Needs) are quite lovely. Their pigment is good and they look amazing when the milk pen is under them. The sparkles in all 3 really get enhanced when there's a white base under. I think all of these are mineral shadows too. TBN may only do mineral, which is nice! Their cost is amazing for the amount of product you get too.

Mascaras!

Essence All Eyes On Me
Essence Black Mania

Although these are from the same company they are really different from each other. All eyes on me has a very watery consistency when applied. So it's super easy to put on WAY too much and just ruin your look. It reminds me greatly of Maybellene Great Lash. Good for when in a pinch but other wise not even worth the 3$. It's suppose to give volume, length, and curl but really it does none of this. Makes your brown/blonde lashes look black but that's it. The brush on it's a bit weird too.

Black Mania though. I LOVE this one. The consistency is creamy but it's not too liquidy nor is it too thick. For me 2 swipes is all I need and my lashes look amazing. The brush on it's very nice too. It's for volume. It did make my lashes look a bit thicker. Which was nice. It doesn't clump up either which is lovellly.

Black Mania: Bottom)

Blushes!

Essence Silky Touch Blush - 20 Babydoll
Ulta Cheek - Adore

The essence one looks like a nice cute color. I'm more into light pinks and oranges and it looked nice. For 2$ why not. While it's cute in the packaging it's not cute on the face. Why? Because it doesn't show up at all! It's completely transparent! Even when I try to load up my brush, hardly anything is shown on my face. Seems like play makeup for a child.

The ULTA one is bits of shimmer in it. Now this one I didn't pay for. When I made a like 50$ purchase like a month ago I was able to pick a freebie of my choice. I ended up picking the natural face kit and this was inside it! I definitely would've not bought this. The color is too dark for me and the shimmer.. My cheeks sometimes get oily. Add on some shimmer and I look like I took a bath in cooking oil. It applies very well though. Just gotta be careful not to put too much on your brush.

N.Y.C Cream Stick - 644U Plaza Pink

I LOVE THIS BLUSH. My first cream blush ever and oh my jesus I love it. It's not that pink. More of a orangy pink. The cream is lovely and the fact that it's a STICK is even better. It glides on smoothly and blends very well when using fingers. (Haven't tried with a brush, I like my fingers.) It gives me a nice healthy glow. I think there might be a tiny hint of shimmer but it's not a serious shimmer like the ULTA one. On the stick it looks a tad shimmery but once I put it on there is zero shimmer. It looks matte when I put it on.

Last but not least..
Lipstick!

NYX - Harmony
NYX - Chaos
Wet n Wild - 528A

The harmony is my 2nd one. The first one I had bought for myself buy my mother stole it and used it all. So I bought another since I liked it the first time. It's a okay color but it's extremely pale. (As you can see.) The shimmer is nice but for pale people like me.. it tends to make me look dead. I don't use it often because of this and I try to wear it on top of other bright colors to tone them down but make it so I don't look creepy. It's a very nice lipstick though that lasts quite a while.

Chaos is more of a pink red. So when it starts to wear off or you wipe some of it off it looks like a hot pink. However, it stains very well. I mainly use it to make my lips look brighter just without lipstick. Put it on, wipe it all and wala. LIP STAIN! Haha. As a lipstick it's very nice.

The wet n wild I bought because I liked the color. It's a nice shade. However it's staying power is a bit ehhh. Definitely have to reapply every once in a while. Not too shabby for it's price though. I think I paid less then 3$ for it.

First I'd like to start out with..
I'M STILL ALIVE, I PROMISE.
Work has gotten the best of me lately and I rarely have time to think
mostless take pictures of all my new makeup.

I've gotten quite a bit of stuff in the past 1 1/2-2 months.
Including some new contacts~

I'll be putting up a review for -everything- tomorrow.
I had pictures of some of my swatches but I honestly can't remember
WHICH shadow is which in the photos.
(Plus they were done in crappy lighting.)
So I'm going to wait until tomorrow to take more photos in better lighting.

=)

More then likely, I'll have a new layout and whatnot for my blog soon too.
Dark colors are nice, but it's almost spring! Time to liven this place up a bit.

on Monday, January 31, 2011
Past few days have been pretty good for me.
I went on a makeup binge and bought a bunch of stuff and today..
I got my car back!

I took it in to get some issues fixed Wednesday. Almost a week later,
I got it back. I'msohappy.
That rental car was weird. (Ford Focus.)

So majority of the makeup I bought.. I bought online.
(Websites were having Vday sales!)
Some things I didn't buy online.

I went to Ulta and got some things.
Cotton Pads (Buy 2 get 2 free~)
Essence Silky Touch Blush
Essence Nail Art Polish
Essence All Eyes On Me Mascara
Ulta Pro Nail Polish in Haute Stuff
($17.42)

For online.. I got a bunch of sample eyeshadows from
TheBodyNeeds.
Then I got some lipstick and a stippling brush from NonpareilNoutique.

Once I get everything from online I'll do a massive blog with swatches and whatnots for everyyyything. (Including the stuff I bought and have right now.)
=)

I swear I'm not dead! I've just been super busy with work and my boyfriend.
(He's been visiting a lot.)

To makeup for my absence.. finally here are the Amuse Reviews I have been
meaning to post for a while. Yaaay!

First up..
≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎

Amuse Eye and Cheek Compact ECC-02
Can be found here~

Paid?
$2.49
Rating?
☆☆ (3/5)
Product Info? 6 eyeshadow colors and 1 blusher.
Applicator and mirror included.

A rectangle compact with a clear top.
The top of the compact says Amuse Eyeshadow & Blush.

Pros:
  • The shadows are a little large. A little bigger then my thumb.
  • The shadows are very bright and have fairly good pigmentation.
  • The blush is a nice size. Not too small but not too large either.
  • The compact itself is not that large. Could go in a purse and not take up lots of room.
Cons:
  • The blush is so close to the shadows that you sometimes get the shadow on the brush as well as the blush.
  • Fallout. The shadows have some fallout and since they're a bit shimmery you end up with slightly shimmery cheeks.

Overall:

It's pretty good for the price. (2.49!) The shadows have good pigmentation and show up very well, especially on white.

Repurchase:
It's possible. I don't use many of the shades often so if I ran out it would be one of those 'ehhh we'll see' type of purchases. Impulse buy maybe.
Would I recommend this to anyone? Sure if you want shimmery stuff for pretty darn cheap.

Second up..

Amuse 12 Color Pearl Eyeshadow Compact Set 6
Can be found here~

Paid? $2.00
Rating?
☆☆ (3/5)
Product Info? 12 color eyeshadow in one compact.

Fairly plain. It's just a black rectangular compact with a mirror inside. The outside top says Amuse Eyeshadow.

Pros:
  • It's not too large. So you can put it in a purse with no problems and it wouldn't take up too much room either.
  • It's got a mirror inside it.
  • Not expensive.
  • The shadows are pretty decent sized for the price I paid. They're about the size of my thumb.
Cons:
  • Some of the shadows aren't that pigmented.
  • Fall out. Put it on a brush/sponge/fingers and no matter what your going to have shimmery shadow on your cheeks from it. Some shades are worse then others.
Overall:
It's not a bad purchase. While you do get some fall out, I personally have no issues with it. It comes off easily and leaves next to no trace that it was even there. (Some of the more shimmery colors will leave a hint of shimmer.)
I actually love a few of the shades in this so I'm glad I got it. It cost me less then 3$ and it's really not that bad for the price.

Repurchase:
Sure. I use it quite a bit so if I ran out and I couldn't find the shades else where for that cheap, I would by again.
I would recommend this to someone starting out maybe or if you just need shadows to experiment with or for costumes.
